Ruben Dario Gabino transfers with the brand

The 81-villa Conrad Koh Samui in Thailand appointed Ruben Dario Gabino as General Manager in July. Mr. Gabino, 42, moves to Thailand from South Korea where he has been working as Hotel Manager of the 434-room Conrad Seoul, part of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, since July 2015.

His previous experience includes the role of Director of Operations for the Jumeirah Group in Dubai where he was responsible for the F&B operations at three hotels (Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Madinat Jumeirah) and the successful transformation of hotel managed restaurants into popular, stand-alone dining venues. Earlier in his career, Ruben Gabino held management positions in the United States, Europe, South and Central America.

Mr Gabino said, “This is a remarkable opportunity to lead an amazing team at a luxury pool villa property on Thailand’s paradise island Koh Samui. With Thailand preparing to welcome more than 40 million visitors this year we expect to witness unprecedented demand from discerning travelers for the ultimate luxury experience provided by my new colleagues at the Conrad Koh Samui.”

The appointment has been welcomed by Paul Hutton, Regional Vice President Operations, Hilton Hotels & Resorts. He said, “Ruben Gabino has an impressive track record in hospitality management.
