HOSPITALITY INSIDER – The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) is preparing to provide renewals for accommodation and service providers within a day.
The SLTDA website has currently listed 18 categories under which service providers can obtain registration or renewal licence. These include, homestay units, rented apartments, rented homes, heritage homes, tourist guides and water based adventure sport centres. At present the software system that facilitates online registration, renewals and issuance of licences is being updated to ensure that it is more user friendly.

In an article carried in Daily FT, the Chairman of SLTDA, Kishu Gomes stated that by the first week of April, the regulatory body will publish press advertisements in English, Sinhala and Tamil. This is to inform all parties of documents required for each category for registration, issuance of licence and renewals.
With a vision to facilitate a speedy process for new registrations, issuance of licences and renewals, the new chairman hopes to provide an efficient service that will enhance satisfaction to all those who provide services to the hospitality and tourism sector.
