Reputed British film location experts were treated to tour of Sri Lanka hosted by SLTPB in the hopes of boosting film tourism to Sri Lanka.
The visiting location managers included David Pinnington, whose credits include Game of Thrones, Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men First Class. On their eight day tour they visited Colombo and sites such as Knuckles mountain range, Minneriya National Park, Sigiriya and the southern coastal belt.
Veteran film maker Chandran Rutnam congratulated SLTPB on the initiative and expressed his hopes that it would become an annual event to entice producers to use Sri Lanka as a location in future.
Films previously shot in Sri Lanka include The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957), Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and The Second Jungle Book (1997).
