Harding Boutique Hotel breaks ground

Work has commenced on the first Harding Boutique Hotel. The six-suite luxury boutique hotel in Ahangama is set to welcome its first guests in late 2019.

Harding Boutique Hotel is a new venture by Australian-born entrepreneur Paul Harding. The property’s architecture and interiors are designed by British architect Jonathan Ashmore, founder of London and Dubai-based firm ANARCHITECT.

Harding and Ashmore connected over a shared love of Sri Lanka. Notably, Harding’s great uncle was one of the first hoteliers in the country, opening The Blue Lagoon (now Jetwing Lagoon), the country’s first resort hotel designed by Geoffrey Bawa. The design of the hotel gives a nod to Bawa’s Tropical Modernism with wide, open spaces and lush vegetation inside the property, complimenting the beachfront location and surrounding coconut groves.

Harding Boutique Hotel is planning a second opening in Talpe in 2021.
