Damro Group ventures into the hotel sector with the opening of Marino Beach, the first hotel owned and managed by Damro.
Senior Manager of Sales & Marketing at Marino Beach Vivek Kerkoven says that the hotel is designed for business and leisure tourists from all regions. “Damro is a strong brand in India, and we have very close ties with the Indian market. No doubt this will be a positive factor, considering that the largest percentage of tourists visiting Sri Lanka are from India,” he adds. Involving a Rs12.5 billion investment and located in Colombo 03, the 2.5-acre property combines Marino Beach and Marino Mall, and stretches from Galle road to Marine Drive.
Says Kerkoven, “Our rooftop infinity pool is the largest in the country and guests are invited to explore our unique rooftop garden, an unexpected sanctuary of greenery.” A key card security system governs access to the rooftop garden and pool in a bid to ensure privacy and safety for guests. The garden requires an entire floor beneath the rooftop dedicated to nurturing and sustaining it. The hotel has 289 rooms, including 3 suites, all offering partial or full views of the Indian Ocean and are designed with Damro furnishings. Function spaces can accommodate up to 750 guests.
